Many believe that the skeletons of dinosaurs admired in natural history museums emerged from the ground under the conditions in which they are exposed, but this is not the case.
Dinosaurs is a scientific documentary that unveils the backstory of the most recent finds of these fascinating prehistoric creatures, the largest that the emerged lands have ever known. Some, especially carnivores, terribly ferocious, reached the size and weight of a tank, at the height of a two-story building, with jaws and teeth capable of crushing their opponents. The herbivores, for their part, developed imposing armor and horns to defend themselves.
Beyond the fascination that they are still able to arouse for young and old, few know that most of the skeletons exhibited in museums are reconstructions and that in the world the original specimens can be counted on the fingers of a hand. Where do they come from? Who are the scientists who search and study them? And which paths lead them into the places visited every year by millions of people?
Francesco Invernizzi, director and producer, answers these questions by reconstructing the journey faced by the remains of these extraordinary creatures, from their discovery in the most remote areas of the planet to the laboratories of the world’s leading experts, to the most exclusive galleries and auction houses where great collectors and prestigious scientific institutes go to win these rare specimens.
Dinosaurs is an exciting journey told through 8K images shot in Italy, Switzerland, France and the USA on the tracks of past giants.
As Peter Larson, the paleontologist who found the most complete T Rex ever found, says in the film: <<In the first Jurassic Park movie they used explosions that suddenly bring out the wonderful image of a perfectly articulated dinosaur from underground. But this is a fake».
